I have achieved nothing less than 80% in the TMA's since I have started the course, this I think is a reflection of the amount of studying that I carry out in order to achieve the exceptional results that I have. Out of the 4 TMA's I have received back 2 of them have been 100% and with the confidence I have gained carrying out this course I believe the 5th TMA I have submitted will also be graded 100% as I have put in alot of study time to achieve the best result possible. Also I feel as a personal achievement I have taught younger children who have minimal knowledge of computers and the internet, how to use their computer safely online without any fear of recieving any virus, spyware or adware. Also I have educated the parents of these children to use certain family saftey software so the children are safe online and are unable to access any sites which are unsuitable for children. As a result of this parents of these children have appreciated this help and have recommended me to friends so that I can try and help keep other children safe onlne and best of all is that the service I have provided has been free of charge. This has also helped me build my knowledge base and customer care skills.

I started the A+ course in late July '07 and have just received the TMA 31a back from marking (100%). I'm not going to start the N+ course until after Christmas as I could do with a break.

It's been a struggle to find the time to do the course as my mother in law has been in hospital to have part of her right lung taken away due to Big 'C'. She's at home now but as that's only down the road the phone doesn't stop ringing.

I found the course comparitively easy and have had some 'stick' from work colleagues who try to tell me that I'll not get employment as I'm too old to make a career change.

My reply is that I'll take my chance with SkillsTrain to keep their word about assisting me to find employment, and anyway 59's not old and I'm just getting started. My scoring for the TMAs is in the high 90s and my aim is to follow the A+ with similar scores in N+ and after that CCNA and complete them all within 2 years.

We all have come a long way (SkillsTrain college, myself and all students of the college). I started off on a SkillsTrain IT programme without thinking of the implications of doing so. Now, I have realised the impact of my actions which comes with huge responsibilities IT-wise. Having completed the first two parts of my programme with the college, I almost gave up on carrying on with the third part (CCNA) due to sickness, finance, etc. I didn't give up due to support from family and friends, now I am happy I continued.

I have just made my first professional money from repairing a work colleagues PC. Hopefully, I would be tarnsferred/promoted to the Applications Department by January.

I just succeeded in configuring a router (might be simple for other people, but never thought I could ever try it in my whole life).

Most of my work colleagues and friends now call on me once their PC encounters any type of hitch (they don't want to know if I could resolve the problem or not - all they know is that Donny has been trained by SkillsTrain college).

Thanks SkillsTrain for the career and personality boost.

Within just four weeks I've managed to complete the entire Section 2 Part B of CompTIA A+ course, having a full time job, working on shift pattern (usually 10 hours per day) and looking after my family. I've been studying very hard, pushing myself to complete this section within a week and my aim was not to get below 90%. I've achieved that. Now I'm waiting to submit TMA30, do the revision suplement and pass the exam.

I have just restarted the course after a 2 year break. in that 2 years I have been divorced, re-married and bought a new house. The last experience I have had with studying is 27 years ago while at school. It has taken me some time to get back in the flow and trying to allocate time to study. Since restarting the course I have managed to repair and rebuild an old computer for my kids to use for their school homework. I saw an old PC but it is a Dell P4 that was being skipped by my employer. I managed to purchase new Ram and Operating system. I formatted the origional hard disk (One of the proviso's for having the PC) and upgraded the RAM from 512Mb to 1GB and reinstalled Windows XP. I also connected a wireless router to the PC and connected it to the Internet for my kids. Thanks to SkillsTrain I can now do this for my kids, which means a great deal to both me and them.

I never knew I was far behind the world's IT until I enrolled at SkillsTrain to take CCNA to bridge the gap.

So far, I am yet to complete N+ but I can now see the light at end of the tunnel which I am now hoping to break through the darkness side of the world of an IT and I cannot wait to start my actual CCNA course.

Thanks to SkillsTrain for coming and saving my life, and put my career on course. I hope at the end of course (CCNA) I would see the light at the peak of the mountain and my life will never be the same again. Truly speaking, I hate the kind of job I am doing right now.

It is not easy at my age (62) to admit that there is a crying need to "start again" and re-build a skill or trade, from the ashes of the old, following a double heart attack, and told after my (18) months recovery, to have to learn to learn again a new and rather alien concept of working makes me nervous, and a bit lost sometimes but very determined to prove I CAN do it, so here's hoping, and thanks anyway for the chance.

Before commencing this course I only knew few things about I.T. but now I know things that seems like something I can never understand.
Regarding my job and family demand, I thought I might not be able to cope but perform excellently in my TMA01.
The course has open my eyes to hidden treasures in I.T.

I have been refining my studying methods and as each TMA gets harder and harder I still manage to get above 90% and I just know that through effort I will keep it this way! I knew a bit about PCs before I started, but now I know a lot more than I could ever have imagined existed.

I was determined to change my career. I came to know about skillstrain through leaflet in the post. I have joined A+/N+/CCNA course. I manage to submit majority of the A+/N+ assignments in the first attempt. I passed my A+ exam in first attempt with good marks. Since last month I am running a part time small business from home, as an IT technician. I am receiving 2-3 computers per week for repair or upgrade, baring in mind that it is relatively new business, and I haven't promoted it as much yet. I am hoping to expand it in near future through advertising and make it as full time business.

The knowledge I have obtained wouldn't have been possible without the help and support of the tutors at skillstrain. I am looking forward for a bright future after completing my study.

Since ever I started training with skillstrain,I have radiated confidence and attended two interwiew and was successful to the extent that the interviewer said he is going to start recommending skillstrain when I answered the question ;what do you understand by the following HUB,ROUTER & SWITCHES.

HUB is a wiring concentration for a LAN & WAN that provide a central attachment point for the network cabling. ROUTER is a device that operate on the network layer of the OSI open system interconnection which is used to route information from LAN and WAN. SWITCHES intelligent which contains circuitry that very quickly, routes signal between ports on the hub.A communication paradiam in which a dedicated communication path is established between the sender and receiver along which all packets travel.

I've recently been diagnosed with Cancer (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia) after a regular Eye Test which came as a big shock and very divastating. Im only 29 years old and I thought I had this massive life ahead of me but now its going to be a touch and go. I was meant to go for the second interveiw with a local I.T company but all that has gone out of the window. I've been going through a series of tests and awaiting to undergo chemotherapy which I hope I will respond well to.

I hope I will have less severe side effects to chemotherapy so that I can finish my CCNP and have a long normal life. If you have a chance to read this note, I advise you all to go for regular Blood Tests/Tests so that any irregularities would be diagnosed/picked up early. Sharing this with all of you makes me feel better and wish you all a healthy life. Many thanks to Skills Train for granting me more time to finish my course.

Well, after a busy first half of the year I was struggling to keep up with my study timetable and also lead a busy life. I work for a medium sized telecomms/I.T company and have been trying to move more into the I.T side of things, as I believe there is more prospects and opportunity, but this has proved difficult as I do not have the necessary experience they require, that was one of the main reasons I embarked on this study programme and course.

Well, about 6 weeks ago I was on a job in a textile factory installing a new phone line, when the head of Their I.T enquired if my company installed and maintained computer networks and all the associated peripherals, I told him yes and agreed to take a quick look around so I could report back to my company with a basic outline of what equipment was onsite. I got back to my office that afternoon and reported back to the I.T manager of my company, in as much detail as I could, with their requirements. As a result of this and applying the knowledge I had gained through this course, the I.T Manager had a meeting with the textile company, and won a five year maintenance contract. Now, I have a full time position in the I.T department as an ICT technician in training. It has certainly spurred me on and now I can devote that little bit more time to my studies as I am able to study at work.
