Three weeks ago, I wrote to the college for a reference letter to back up my application for a new position within my company as my company wanted the letter confirming that I have completed A+ and N+ and have commenced the study of CCNA. The letter was provided and I went, I saw and we (myself and SKILL Skillstrain) conquered.
Someone with a little and humble beginning is now in a comfortable position within the Information Systems department. Not only that, I applied for further training and if the unconfirmed news I heard from my manager should be trusted, then I am already successful. According to my manager, I was selected for the training (among other 3 people) for the fact that I already have Experience of CISCO and Networking. How would I have gained all the above remarkable experience without Skillstrain solidly standing behind me? My success is not going to end there for I do know that it has just started. The very day I took the bold step of joining Skillstrain was the very day I took my destiny in my hands and said to my hidden success;" Let's start our journey". and we have just started our success journey and story. Success doesn't come so easily, for it demands hard work. My TMA's and my drive to succeed are living testimonies of my hardwork which Skillstrain contributed to in no small measures.
I just wish I started with the college earlier than when I started. If I did, I would had risen more than I have now. But there is no regret as long as I have Skillstrain, success is assured.

Have been working 2 jobs and have been studying in tea breaks and lunch hours. The company I work for has a Communications division and the director of it heard about what I was doing and the course I was studying. He has offered me a position as Communications Engineer. I am now working on Telecoms, Data Comms, Audio Visual,Security and Wirless.

I enrolled on the CCNA course about 15 months ago and I am glad I did. Had I enrolled on it somewhere else I would have been booted out long time ago! Thanks to its highly flexibility in nature. It has not been easy combining my low paid hard work job with this course. But I am glad and always feel very comfortable when I bury my head deep on the course material. One thing that keeps me going is the advertisement of jobs galore on this website and the corresponding fat salaries not to mention the string benefits. In fact this and success stories I read on this website tell me that there is 100% hope of seeing the light at the end of the tunnels. For me being on this course is a dream come through not as job only but also what I have fancied to do in future. I have realised that if one lays their hands on something that they love doing they do and do it very very well. I like my level of progress. One thing I can't wait is the cycberclass I will be stating in a few week's time. The first time I was introduced to it, it was fantastic! Lets all study very hard for it. How wonderful it will be for me to write my name and add my CCNA to it! Upon successfull completion of this I can't wait to start the next one which is CCNP. Thanks to my dedicated tutors who have made the course materials so well self explanatory that I find it hard to ask them questions on a topic or a chapter.

For 21 years I was a digger driver to trade with no IT background at all. Not being one to sit back and accept the fact that it just works , who cares how (My PC that is ) and armed with a desire to know more I started out on a voyage of discovery . I now find myself at the opposite end of the scale.I appear to have become the village IT man . The knowledge I have gained through my N+ is incredible . My PC skills are impressing my kids 17 & 14 which is saying something . My CCNA although difficult is proving rewarding and hopefully at the end of it all will be a job offer that will put my new found skills to the test . The down side, if you could call it that, is my employer and friend can see the progression from digger driving PC illeterate cabbage to intellectual IT man . He knows that the day is drawing closer when I will shake his hand, thank him for the good times, curse him for the bad times and wish him bon voyage as I head off into the sunset port-folio in hand as a qualified IT man. All of this is thanks to the back up I have from you guys. You sit in the wings ever watch-full never criticising and always ready to help. It is appreciated. Thanks for everything

After a few months studying for the Network+ exam I landed a full time IT Support job with my now current employer who was impressed with my commitment to the course. I have now passed the exam and am certified and now have the chance of a promotion because of this.

I joined SkillsTrain in December 2006. I always wanted to have a career In IT but never got the right guidance from anyone until I came across SkillsTrain. After deciding to do Comptia A+ I had barely 6 months in hand in which I had to study the course material and to appear for Comptia A+ 2003 examination as the last date for examination was on 30th June. During this period my wife was pregnant and had to take care of her as well, we were blessed with baby boy on 22nd DEC 2006. I had many sleepless nights specially in first 3 months and at times felt so stressed that I wont be able to do this but with my wife's support I was able to carry on.
I work for a Restaurant as a Manager and my working hours are very unpredictable ending up doing 60 odd hrs or more a week. I could hardly find time to study, some how I managed to study for 7-10 hrs a week. Until recently in June I finished my course work and applied for exam.
I passed Comptia A+ (both the exams)on 29th June. I couldn't believe myself that I did it. I am really very happy and looking forward to do Comptia N+ and then CCNA. I want to take this opportunity to thank SkillsTrain for providing me with the platform to build my career.

I have passed my first 2 TMA's and I am thoroughly enjoying taking this set of courses. I never thought that I would start off so well at the beginning. The courses that I have chosen are ones which I hope will help secure a future for myself and my family.
I hope that I will have success in my upcoming assignments and I also hope that I will do well in them as I have done in the ones that I have passed so far. The time in which it takes my tutors to mark and return my assignments is second to none, I couldnt ask for a better team to whom I am working alongside. I hope I will be considered for the student of the month as this will give me an incentive to try harder and progress further in the future.

Well about 2 months ago emails were about as far as my pc knowledge went, oh and playing games. Now when I get all the error and warning messages on my pc I actually understand what they are and dont just click ok and carry on.
I've always been able to fix and work on anything, but pc's confused me as I couldnt see what was working or not as the case May be, now I am confident enough to go into the system itself and make changes to programs to attempt to solve the error messages im getting.
It May not seem a lot but to me it's proof that I am taking in all the information I am learning, and yes I DO believe that I will pass all courses I take and I WILL become a happier person with a future and career not just a existance and a job. That is the reason for my taking these courses.

I am happy man, becouse I passed my A+ Exams last week. It was very hard time for me, I have a 10 hours a day job and all other commitments. So a big thanks to you people in SkillsTrain, without you I won't have done this.

I had a basic knowledge of computers and how they work since I was 18 at college, however since starting this course it has vastly improved my knowledge and experience to enable my to help my friends and family with their pc problems. I have even been able to build my uncle a pc desktop. Also recently I have had just had an operation therefore been able to study harder and improve my results.
I hope to continue and gain more knowledge and experience to hopefully pursue a career - all thanks to all at Skills Train.
Thanks and carry on with the good work.

Although this isn't an achievement in passing an exam as I have a long way to go for that, this is an achievement for me, in studying the course material.
A couple of weeks ago my downstairs sockets trippied out when a fuse in a plug blew. Having reset the switch on the fuse box I checked all the plugs to see which one had fused. As it happens it was the fuse in the power lead to the computer that had blown. I replaced the fuse in the plug and connected it back to the pc and switched it on, nothing happened! My pc didn't start humming as normal! What could it be??
Not having the cash to buy a new pc, I thought what the hell! It's what I'm doing this course for! I checked the manufacturers warranty and just as I thought it was well out of date. So I decided to have a crack at troubleshooting it myself. This I did successfully and found that the PSU had blown. I double checked my findings with one of the tutors (being a novice I thought it best to ask), and successfully replaced the PSU in my pc which is now working perfectly.
There you have it, not rocket science I know, but for a complete novice I think I did pretty well!
