Well since February I've only send one tma,I got 100% on my last assignment tma13 so I am gonna keep studying hard and try to get 96% or above in order to win student of month (Feb).I've also done well on my previous assignments my record is impressive all thanks to me and tutor team A.thanks a lot. To be a Family man and Student at the same time is hard. Ialmost thought of giving up the course following the loss of my wife's job in NHS England and had to relocate to Scotland. Within a month when I am thinking things are about to settle down, my wife had a miscarriage and I had to concentrate in nursing her and taking care of my daughter whilst at the same time I had to sit for my MSc Exams in Computer Security & Auditing and submit assignments and CISCO need to be done...!! I have passed assignments and I am now back on track with CISCO......I am very Happy. I have also got a job to help a blind student to do his MSc Dessertation....!!!! I have had previous experience in IT as I have studied the basic at a Sixth form college, The A+ course has enabled me to look at the componenets and technology in depth to gain and intensive knowledge. I can now resolve problems that can be basic and that are quite difficult to resolve if I didn't have the experince. I submitt the assignments, which I find very calming, because I am not working under pressure. Hopefully before the end of June 2007 I will like to complete this and move on to the N+ part of the course. Before I started this course I was a mere GNU/Linux and OpenBSD programmer as a hopbby and knew the very minimal about hardware. Now, just weeks after starting the A+ course I have friends and family and even people I barely know bringing their computers in to me and asking me to go around to perform maintenance, install hardware and help configure their computer systems. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and feel this course is helping me achieve my goals to get into the IT industry. I AM IN COLLOGE WITH THE HELP OF COMPTIA A+ AND IS HELPING ME WITH COMPUTING A LEVELS. HAS HELPED ME GET JOB INTERVIEWS AS MY CV HAS BECOME MORE DESIRABLE. HAS ENHANCED MY KNOWLEDGE TO REPAIR PCS FOR FRIENDS AND Colleagues Since the beginning of November I have managed to get to the half way point of my A+ course. Not remarkable in itself, but, I work full time averaging 50+ hours a week, I have four children aged 11, 6 and twins of 18 months old and Christmas in the middle of all this. I have been very impressed with my progress, achieving on average 90% per assignment. Working and studying has been difficult, with a 2yr old daughter and pregnant wife to support. But I feel I have applied myself excellently, and aim to continue to achieve the high standards I set myself. Despite working full time on shifts and being under the threat of imminent redundancy and all the pressures, worries and headaches that come with the situation, I have maintained my coursework on time and to a fairly good standard. I am also teaching my wife how to e mail! Not that great, you May think, but she is something of a tecnophobe and always seems a bit too busy to sit at a PC for long enough to take it all in. I will persevere. To make an option to start a tottaly new career and come back to study after 30 years at 51 years of age in another country. I think this is a big step and a great personal achievement. I really think I have now come to terms of liking to study even more than before when I come back from work exhausted,I still manage to peruse through my lessons.I feel motivated when I speak with my tutor, because after helping me with my lessons,he still asks me for any further question.I work from Monday to Friday, but still do manage at least to understand most of my lessons I study that particular day/night.I think my performance hasn't been that bad as feared before.I would like thank all the tutors for their lovely help. AM DOING A+ AS PART OF MY COURSE AND DURING THIS TIME HAVE ALOT OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT COMPUTER MANTAINANCE SINCE I STARTED LEARNING WITH SKILLS TRAIN ,I EVEN MANAGED TO FIX MY HOME PC THAT WAS NOT PERFORMING WELL.I LOOK FORWARD TO LEARN MORE. Achieved outstanding TMA results that I wasnt expecting from reading through the manuals, even managed a high revision supplement mark. Plus, I have helped my brother in detecting viruses on his computer, something which I needed help with 5 years ago!! He likes to think he can manage these himself, but I showed him someone else is on hand just incase. Also, I feel as though Ive progressed nicely, engaging in sometimes longer than average sessions reading my course material.
