I am working full employment with T-Mobile(UK) Greenock as a Business Advisor and been doing this job for 6 years now and am doing good achievement in the fqac of adversity. I do work under pressure but I still manage to continue with the course work and I have been working 1 step ahead in completeing the course and I use the Student website mor often now but I am still enjoying this. I am hoping to move up in employment and I have put my application in for TDMS (Technical Data and Multimedia Support) within my work place and have submitted my CV to also include this course that I am doing which looks good for viewing and I will do my best in getting that job and I will keep up on this course that I am doing. I had to leave my home and family and move back to England with my 2 year old son where we had to start from scratch. I had no formal qualifications in IT but with self taught experience I enrolled with skillstrain and started to turn things around, I am now powering my way though my A+ juggling life as a single parent and hoping to start work in an IT field within the next few months. Thank you skillstrain! I had just received a pass mark of 100% in TMA. I am proud as punch that I am finding the time to study my course between working during the day and also learning to bring up my baby daughter who will be 11 weeks on Friday coming, she is the driving force for me to push myself to achieve great results. I have started my course with SkillsTrain just over a 6 months now, only 6 units left! Although I have had previous computer knowledge from completing my GCSE and A-Level ICT exams, I must admit though that studying the N+ has given me exceptional knowledge about computer hardware/software and computer network which is what I enjoy doing, hence why I decided to embark on this course. The main reason for me to achieve my goal ( completing the course and gaining a successful career), is so that life can be made easier for me and for my mum who works hard for me and my sister to see us do well. If you could ask any one in my family/friends they will both tell you that iv got a fixed mind on what I want, and thats to be successful in life and not just 'make do' but be a somebody that makes a difference. Im not exactly aged with experiance, being 19 years of age you would think I would be doing something totally different to earn a living, but iv always known from early secondary school that IT was the way forward for me. Since the beginning of my course I have consistantly achieved a high percentage score rate on each of my tutor marked assessments. Over the last 6 assesments I have achieved a 100% score rate. I continually revise all previous modules of the course in order to keep information fresh in my mind ready to put into practice. I have also applied to a number of different PC stores in order to get some hands on experience including PC World. Since starting my course in March I have submitted 4 TMA's and have an average mark of 91.25%. This May not be outstanding to many but for myself it is a tremendous achievement and one I am very proud of. HALLO TO ALL, I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE AT SKILLS TRAIN FOR ALL THE SUPPORT THEY HAVE GIVEN SO FAR, I AM A N+ STUDENT I STARTED AT THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR AND HAVE BEEN TRYING HARD TO COPE WITH THE COURSE, I GOT MARRIED LAST YEAR WITH ONE CHILD AND MY WIFE IS CURRENTLY IN THE UNIVERSITY STUDING THATS WHY I HAVE HAD TO TAKE A HOME LEARNING COURSE. I HAVE A DIPLOMA IN (MIS- management of information systems) WHICH I GOT IN 2003 BUT I HAVE WANTED MORE SKILLS AND KNOWLEGDE ON NETWORKING THATS WHY I ENROLLED FOR THE COURSE. I WORK AS A SUPPORT WORKER IN A SMALL HOME WHERE I SUPPORT 4 PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES, I ENJOY MY WORK AND IT FITS IN WITH MY COURSE AND FAMILY AT THE MOMENT THOUGH SOMETIMES ITS A TIGHT SQUEEZE OF TIME. I HAVE GIVEN 110 PERCENT ON MY COURSE AND I READ THE COURSE MATERIAL OFFERED THOUROUGHLY. I AM PUTTING AN ENTRY FOR STUDENT OF THE MONTH WITH THE HOPE THAT I DESERVE IT, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL AT THE SKILLS TRAIN AGAIN FOR ALL THE WONDERFULL WORK THAT THEY ARE DOING. I left university with a degree which had no real career path and left me unemployed for several months resulting in depression with no real idea of what I wanted to do ith my life. I saw an advert on the internet for IT training through skills train and decided this May be the way to go. Since I started my course with Scheidegger I have had many achievements, including passing both the CompTIA A Plus and Network Plus examinations over the course of 2006 and managing my time efficiently, enabling me to study at least 20 hours a week and work fulltime. I would like to enter for student of the month as I think that for a forty something year old to start studying again after 20 odd years is good going. Particularly as it is something completely new to him. I am proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks!! Since passing the A+ I have gained a position within an IT department as first line support. My acheivments and skills within this position has been increased over the past month with the aid of the N+, it has given me a better understanding and wider knowledge base to aid users. I have recently been given a raise and this can be acredited to the hard work and extra research I have been completing around the current course material. Over the last few weeks I have taken on some extra work helping people with common PC problems (clearing viruses, connecting home Wire less networks, etc) I'm have just got a new better I.T job because prospective employers favour applicants who are studying with qualifications because they see an individual who is committed and ambitious. I think that fact that I am busy studying for my CCIE and MCSE helped me alot in gaining this new employment. I recently become A+ cerified by passing both the Core Hardware and OS exams and I have to say this has give me a huge morale boost I was a bit worried about the exam just wondering if I would pass or not so if there is anyone out there who May feels the same as I did then this is for you, keep a cool head about your self on the big day.
